Gingivitis and Periodontitis
Branch of Dentistry that analyzes the dental support structures (Bone and Gum). There are two types of Periodontal disease, Gingivitis and Periodontitis.
Gingivitis:
It is summarized as inflammation of the soft tissues of the mouth (gums) caused by the accumulation of plaque and tartar; the patient may experience general bleeding, color change and bad breath.
Periodontitis:
Advanced periodontal disease, which is associated with bone loss. Some of the symptoms that the patient may present are: bleeding, inflammation, bad breath, gum retraction, mobility and even pain.
